On Saturday 28th October Brooks Independent Funeral Directors had their official opening with Town Mayor Gavin Grant and Dept Mayor Phil Exton cutting the ribbon to the office and chapel of rest. The event showcased the facilities at 21 High Street, including private office, chapel of rest and full facilities to care for deceased. There was a display of pictures and postcards of the office through the years and another on options for personalising funerals with options such as alternative hearses and bespoke coffins. The event was very well attended and a raffle for HEALS raised £100.
Brooks Independent Funeral Directors is run by Chris Brooks Dip FD. Chris grew up in Malmesbury, and at 15 undertook work experience with Chris Matthews, the local funeral director at the time, and decided on a future in the profession. 20 years later and having worked in the profession since leaving school, Brooks Independent Funeral Directors now stands at 21 High Street, Malmesbury, offering traditional burial and cremation services, celebration of life services as well as a direct cremation option and all associated services.
Traditionally Funeral Directors have had strong links to the community, this is something that has declined in more recent years with many firms being owned by company directors who are detached from the area they operate. As a someone who grew up and still lives in Malmesbury Chris hopes to maintain a strong link with the community that not only is he serving but is also a part of.
Available 24 hours, 365 days of the year Chris is here to personally guide and support the bereaved through every aspect of arranging a personalized funeral. Offering a compassionate and caring service that is tailored to meet the specific needs of the family. No matter how simple or elaborate the requirements are, his goal is to ensure that a loved one's funeral is a fitting tribute to their unique life.
